2 Day Trip to Mount Sinai and Suez from Cairo

Your journey begins with a private pickup from your hotel in Cairo at 06:00, followed by a drive to Port Tawfik in Suez for a short canal-side viewing stop. You will then observe the northbound convoy traffic as you arrive in Ismailia, after which you will visit the Suez Museum and enjoy lunch in Ismailia. The drive from Ismailia to St. Catherine takes approximately six hours. Upon arrival, you will check in at the St. Catherine Guest House to relax, have dinner, and then prepare for an early morning climb. At about 2:00 am, your Bedouin guide will take you from the hotel to climb Mount Sinai, where Moses received the Ten Commandments. From the summit, you will enjoy stunning views of the Sinai Desert at sunrise. You will descend the mountain at around 7:00 am and then be transferred to St. Catherine's Monastery for a visit to both the monastery and its museum. The monastery contains many churches, including the main Church of the Transfiguration, where you will see the site of the burning bush, named after the place where the prophet Moses saw fire and received the Ten Commandments. This UNESCO-listed monastery is considered one of the most famous in the world and was dedicated to St. Catherine, a ruler from Alexandria who was tortured to death for her faith. Your private nighttime hike is timed to catch the sunrise from the heights of Mount Sinai, and your entrance ticket and guided tour of the monastery are included. You will then drive back to Cairo, arriving at approximately 3:00 pm.
